Leaders want names from forensic audit

After the release of the Auditor General’s forensic report, members of each political party are voicing their disappointment at not learning the names of those implicated.
At least two of the former members implicated must be from the Progressive Conservative party.
“The math would indicate that two of those would be from our former caucus and that investigation will unfold with the RCMP,” says interim Progressive Conservative leader Karen Casey.
She says she’s spoken to all members of her current caucus and no one has been contacted by the RCMP or the Auditor General as being implicated in the report.
However Liberal leader Stephen McNeil points out the Auditor General didn’t contact anyone.
“It’s human decency, quite frankly, that he would’ve at least notified those members that the files he had asked him about were being referred,” says McNeil. “He’s not presuming guilt, he’s just saying that it’s beyond me now and I’m turning it over to a police agency.”
The Speaker of the House explains when names are released, if the House wishes to oust the sitting member, it does have that power.
