Police investigating thefts at NS Power compounds

RCMP are looking into several thefts from Nova Scotia Power compounds over the past month.

The first theft occured May 3 in Lower Sackville, since then five additional thefts have taken place in Lakeside, Westphal and Lower Sackville areas.

RCMP say the thefts are occuring overnight and the suspect or suspects are cutting fences to enter into secure compounds.

So far police say the culprits have gotten away with chain saws, gas power drills, tool chests and hundreds of pounds of copper wire. They say it would require having a vehicle waiting outside the fence.

RCMP are asking anyone with details on the thefts to call police or Crimstoppers 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
