One of the men facing charges in relation to this week’s fatal car crash in Dartmouth is facing a new charge.
A 15-year-old boy died in the back seat of the car that smashed into a utility pole on Cranberry Crescent Sunday night.
Matthew Grimm, 18, of Cole Harbour was charged Tuesday with dangerous driving causing death, breaching an undertaking and breaching probation.
Police have now laid the charge of failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
Police said they were consulting with the Crown to see whether it would be appropriate to charge Grimm with failing to stop at the scene of an accident since he didn’t leave in a vehicle.
Grimm was in court Thursday where he learned bail was denied, he will be in court May 26 for a show cause hearing.
Grimm was also issued tickets for driving without a license, registration, insurance and valid inspection sticker.
