Halifax police dealing with two Dartmouth shootings

Police are dealing with two new shootings, both which happened in Dartmouth.
Around 6:25 a.m. Friday police were called to Fernhill Drive for a vehicle that had bullet holes in it. Residents in the area reported hearing gun fire around 3 a.m.
Less then 12 hours before that incident, police were led on a high-speed chase in Dartmouth’s east end. Two teens were arrested after shots were fired from one car at another on Main Street in Dartmouth around 9 p.m. Thursday night.
“Unfortunately we are seeing guns being used by people generally involved in either the drug sub-culture or other criminal activities,” says Cst. Brian Palmeter with Halifax police.
This comes less than three weeks after police announced results of Operation Impinge which targeted rival gangs involving reckless shoot-ups.
No one was hurt in these latest shootings, and police are still looking for the gun used in the Main St. shooting. It’s believed the suspects tossed it out of the car while being chased by police.
