Smoke plumes headed for NS

Environment Canada is advising Nova Scotia residents that air quality could be affected by the 57 forest fires in Quebec.
In an advisory released Monday morning, Environment Canada says the fires are producing significant smoke plumes that are being carried southeastward to Nova Scotia.
It says it is possible that parts of Nova Scotia could experience reduced air quality from this smoke today.
Western parts of the province are particularly at risk. At least 57 forest fires are burning in central Quebec and nine of them remain out of control. About 1,000 firefighters and specialists are battling the blazes.
