Kid Rock headlines Commons concert announcement

The Friday night acts for this summer’s rock concerts on the Common were unveiled Tuesday.

Promoter Harold MacKay calls the two day event on the “Common Halifax Rocks 2010”. MacKay says the Friday night lineup will include headliner Kid Rock.

“Kid Rock has sold over 25 million albums around the world, his current album “Rock and Roll Jesus” debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 100,” says MacKay.

Counting Crows, Daughtry, Tonic and locals The Stanfields and the Jimmy Swift Band will also play that Friday..

There’s a bonus for those who buy tickets before June 30th: MacKay’s unveiled rain insurance for the concerts.

“If it rains any more than 20 millimetres during the hours of 7 to 10 and they’re holding the ticket to either one of those events they have an option,” says MacKay. “They can stay and watch it and soak up the rain, or they can go home. Either way they get their money back.”

Tickets for the Friday show cost $99, Saturday $100.75. A combined package will cost $169.
