Traffic tie-ups on Highway 102 at the new Larry Uteck interchange should start to clear up soon.
The transportation department’s Steve Smith tells News 95.7 the main highway going under the new overpass will re-open next week. But that’s not the end of the project.
Smith says, “Where you’ve been driving, now they’ll be working on that. It’s a huge, massive project, 24 million dollars.”
He says all in all, work has gone smoothly, “The contractor’s done a great job, our project manager’s done a great job and we’re very pleased with the way things are proceeding.”
The interchange will eventually hook up with Larry Uteck Blvd. Work is scheduled to be finished by the end of August.
