Top 10 excuses for using a cell phone while driving

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Oh the excuses! B.C.’s hands-free cell phone law is now five months old, and police have been hearing all kinds of stories from drivers caught breaking the law.

ICBC has published a list of some of the lame excuses drivers have used trying to talk their way out of a ticket.

“It was my mom calling” has been used – but were pretty sure your mom wants you to be safe, to drive responsibly and to use a hands free device.

Eight-thousand tickets have been handed out since the law took effect. Take a look at the rest of the list here.
