Accused cabbie killer to stay in jail

The young man accused of murdering a local cabbie is asking to be held in federal custody until his next court date.
Chaze Lamar Thompson, 20, did not enter a plea during a brief appearance at provincial court Friday morning.
He will remian in custody until July 19 when dates for a preliminary hearing with be set on a charge of first-degree murder.
His lawyer told the court that he needed time to study the file.
Thompson was charged in January with killing cab driver Sergei Kostin.
Kostin’s burned-out car was found about three weeks after he disappeared, but it was months before his remains were found in nearby woods.
