Batten down the hatches: High winds and rain expected

It might not be a bad idea to tie down your patio furniture. High winds are expected tomorrow as a low pressure system passes south of the province.

Meteorologist Richard Zurawski says you can expect some nasty weather with winds gusting up to 80 km an hour.

“Starting tomorrow morning and in through the afternoon, it’s going to get very, very brisk,” says Zurawski. “We’re going to get some rain associated with it, so we’ll get some downpours from time to time.”

Zurawski warns that with leaves on the trees, there’s a potential for power outages caused by fallen trees and broken branches.
