Two bears spotted in Bedford

Bear sightings in HRM appear to be on the rise, and that certainly was the case Saturday as several Bedford residents got a scare.
Police responded to a sighting in the early afternoon, and while on the scene, they received five more calls from residents who spotted two bears, one of which is believed to be a cub.
The bears were seen on Wyatt Road and Moirs Mill Road, but police and Department of Natural Resources officers searched the nearby woods with no luck.
They’re concerned the mother bear could become more aggressive if it gets seperated from its cub.
Police say if you see a bear, stay well back, and call police.
