Taser company says Braidwood Inquiry was ‘unfair’

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Taser International says it was unfair for the Braidwood Inquiry to find the weapon can kill, without first giving the company a chance to refute those findings.

The company is in B.C. Supreme Court challenging the findings of the first public inquiry report stemming from Robert Dziekanski’s death at Vancouver’s airport in 2007.

The Arizona-based manufacturer complains that commissioner Thomas Braidwood didn’t allow it to see the report and respond before it was made public last year.

A lawyer for the company says Braidwood owed Taser International a duty of fairness because of the negative impact his findings could have.
