Added cost for new library

The books may be free but it looks like promoting Halifax’s planned
55 million dollar downtown library is going to cost a few dollars.

The Herald reports $40,000 will be spent on publicity for the book depository.

Speaking with the paper Marlo MacKay with Halifax Public libraries says the money will be used for public relations activities.

A number of public meetings are planned for residents to discuss plans for the library. MacKay says those meetings cost around $8000 each to hold.

Construction is slated to start in March of next year. The building should be completed in early 2014.
