Government offices and banks will be closed on Monday for the Natal Day civic holiday and there are some other adjustments to bear in mind:
– grocery stores and malls will open at noon; closing hours vary, so be sure to call ahead.
– NSLC stores outside HRM will be open as usual; stores in HRM will open at noon with the exception of the Scotia Square outlet, which will be closed all day.
– private wine and liquor retailers will be open as usual.
– HRM’s call centre will be closed and callers have access to the following limited automated selection: holiday transit information, solid waste collection, Natal Day events, and parking ticket payment.
– there will be no municipal curbside collection of solid waste on Monday, August 2. If Monday is your regular collection date, put your green bin, garbage or recyclables outside for collection on SATURDAY, July 31.
– The Otter Lake Waste Processing and Disposal Facilities, the two composting facilities and the HRM Recycling Plant will be closed on Monday, August 2, but will be open as usual on Saturday, July 31.
– HRM’s residential Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot will be closed Saturday, July 31st but will be open Saturday, August 7th and Saturday, August 14th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
– Several Metro Transit routes will be detoured on Sunday and Monday due to closures on the MacDonald Bridge. Details are on the Metro Transit website.
