Waterfront arrest leads to impaired boating charges

A couple of men from Eastern Passage are facing charges of impaired boating today.
The pair were arrested Wednesday afternoon on the Halifax waterfront.
Halifax Regional Police Const. Brian Palmeter says they attracted some attention when they tried to tie up at a private wharf on the Halifax waterfront.
“They attempted to dock and someone noted that the operator appeared intoxicated,” said Palmeter. “One of our officers, who was working on a bicycle, arrived on scene and was able to follow the boat to the second location, where two men were taken into custody.”
Two men, ages 43 and 51, are facing charges of impaired operation of a vessel and refusing the breathalyzer.
