Holiday traffic causing long lineups at airport

If you’re flying out of Stanfield International Airport in the next few days, you may want to give yourself some extra time.

Airport spokesperson Ashley Barnes says this is a very busy time of the year and there have been backlogs at the check-in area for the past week.

She says it’s particularly busy between 6:15 and 7:30 a.m.

“The airlines do make all attempts to get passengers where they’re going. In fact I’ve heard of some airlines coming to pull folks out of the line-up to get them through,” she said. “Folks who are traveling domestically should get to the airport at least two hours ahead of time, especially if they’re traveling in the early morning hours.”

Barnes says you can also speed things up if you do a web check-in from home before you head to the airport.

She says the backlogs should ease after the Labour Day long weekend.
