Two arrested in connection with Clayton Park murder attempt

Police have arrested two teens in relation to the attempted murder of a Clayton Park man.
Police picked up a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl in Truro Wednesday. The two were arriving back in the province after police allege they drove the victim’s stolen car to Montreal.
“Ever since this incident took place, investigators have been working tirelessly to determine who was responsible and what their location was,” says Cst. Brian Palmeter with Halifax Police. “And through their hard work, they were able to determine that these two people were going to be arriving in Truro.”
The boy was initially charged with being an accessory to attempted murder after the fact as well as drug charges relating to Morphine, Oxycodone, Ecstasy and Marijuana that was found when police searched him. Both teens face theft charges.
Late in the day, police told News95.7 the Crown had amended the charges against the boy to include Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault.
Police say they are still looking for a third suspect.
“We’re not sure of his location, and at this point we’ll be working with any police agency that we feel might be of assistance in attempting to locate him,” says Cst. Palmeter.
Police were called to a Willett Street apartment Sunday afternoon. At the apartment they found a 37-year-old-man who was suffering from serious head injuries. Police say they believe a weapon was used.
“The two people who were arrested and the third individual that we’re looking for are known to the victim and all had access to his apartment,” says Palmeter.
Palmeter says police allege the three suspects stole the victim’s car and drove it to Montreal, where the car was found by Montreal police Monday.
He says police are unsure of the motive behind the assault. The third suspect is thought to be a male in the 17 to 18-year-old range and from the metro area.
