Mayor says harbour dip will happen

The end of August is a week away, and the mayor still hasn’t gone for a swim in the harbour.
Peter Kelly promised he’d go for a dip this summer to show the water is safe following the restoration of the sewage treatment plant in Halifax – but it hasn’t happened yet.
Kelly tells Maritime Morning, he’s scheduled the publicity splash a couple of times, but had to delay due to rain or other events.
He says it could happen by the end of the week, and definitely by the end of the summer.
Two members of the provincial Department of Transportation are planning to swim across the harbour on Thursday to raise money for the United Way.
