Earl cleanup progressing as Igor threat diminishes

Ten days after Earl came and went, the municipality is still cleaning up the mess it left behind.
Mayor Peter Kelly tells Metro Halifax, trees and branches came down by the ton.
He says crews have moved most of the mess off main thoroughfares, but it will take a week or two to catch up with all the material.
Fortunately, the Canadian Hurricane Centre says it appears Igor won’t add to the mess.
Chris Fogarty says the Category Five storm is still a week away from the Maritimes, but the chance of it affecting us in the same track as Earl is less likely.
He says he expects the storm to curve northward a little sooner, bringing waves to Nova Scotia, but not weather.
