Universities taking steps to warn students about sleepwatcher

Students at Dalhousie and Saint Mary’s University are being warned to keep their doors and windows locked after the latest reports of a sleepwatching incident in the south end.
Three women were woken early Sunday morning by an intruder prowling through their rooms. Two of the women were sexually assaulted.
On Monday, there were lots of women on the Saint Mary’s campus that hadn’t heard about the incident on nearby Wellington Street.
“I had no idea,” said one woman. “Starting university everybody’s busy with their school, they don’t follow the news, nothing.”
“I think they should let students know,” said another young woman. “A lot of students live right around campus.”
Student Union President Matt Anderson says the university is doing exactly that.
“It’s circulating throughout all the departments at the university,” he said “It will pretty much be all around campus, you won’t be able to miss the information. It will be going on poster boards; it will be going on desks around campus. Pretty much anywhere where students can get information that news will be there.”
At Dalhousie University, security officials say they’ve issued a bulletin for the daily newsletter.
The suspect is described as a man in his early 20’s, with a medium build and dark hair. He was wearing a sweater and blue jeans with a neck-warmer over his face.
