Speed likely not a factor in deadly collision: police

Police are looking for witnesses to the accident that killed an elderly man in Dartmouth.
The crash happened at the corner of Waverley Road and Craigburn Drive just after noon on Thursday.
An off-duty Halifax officer was driving a Silverado pickup on Waverley Road and collided with a sedan turning onto Waverley from Craigburn.
The officer wasn’t hurt, but two women, one in the truck and one in the sedan, were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
A man in the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police spokesperson tells Metro Halifax it doesn’t look like speed was an issue and investigators are still looking for anyone who may have seen what happened.
