DELTA (NEWS1130) – Delta police say they’ve received more than a 150 tips about the beating death of Laura Szendrei. The teenager was found in the woods in Mackie Park on Saturday and died in hospital the following morning.
Sergeant Sharlene Brooks says police are investigating every possible lead, including the appearance of Hells Angels members at the girl’s funeral. “They were there to pay tribute to a friend whose daughter was tragically taken from them. That’s all I’m going to say.”
She adds police are pleased with the response from the public so far in the investigation, but say it could take a while before they go through all the evidence.
Brooks says they also haven’t determined whether Szendrei’s death is linked to two unsolved attacks on women earlier this year.
