Warm, white winter on the way

Environment Canada’s top meteorologist says we’re in for an “old fashioned” winter in terms of snowfall.

David Phillips says that after the warmest recorded January to September ever the winter will be warmer and drier than usual.

But, he tells the Amherst News, it will be “tougher” than last winter.

Phillips says the La Nina system is holding, which always makes predictions a toss-up, but he says the latest models are showing a warmer, snowier winter on the way.
