WINNIPEG (NEWS 1130) – The BC Lions blew it in Winnipeg coughing up 21 fourth-quarter points losing 47-35 to the Bombers in overtime.
BC’s Sean Whyte got the scoring going in the extra period with a 30-yard field goal, but Justin Palardy replied for Winnipeg.
After the Bombers’ Yvenson Bernard found the end zone, the Lions had one more chance to tie the score, but Casey Printers was picked off by Deon Beasley who returned it 72 yards for a touchdown ending the game.
The loss was a double-edged sword for the road team because with the BC loss both Calgary and Saskatchewan clinched home playoff games.
BC’s now 5 and 9 and host the Eskimos on Saturday.
