Homicide in Halifax

Members of the integrated HRP/RCMP Major Crime unit are investigating a homicide at a residence on the 100 block of Jarvis Lane.
A 21 year old man was found there with a gunshot wound to the chest. Staff Sergeant Barb Saunders says they were called to the scene at 8:06 p.m.where they found the victim.
“He was pronounced deceased at the scene,” says S/Sgt. Saunders.
The area was secured by officers and members of the forensic identification team were called in at daybreak to gather evidence. Officers are also hoping for information from the public as they try and find the shooter.
This incident happened in the same north end neighborhood where a man was found shot in the chest last summer. 21-year old Ryan Matthew White was found on the sidewalk in front of a public housing building. He later died of his injuries in hospital after the July 22nd shooting.
No one was ever charged in that incident.
