Cross burning trial set to begin

The trial begins today for one of the two brothers charged with a cross burning earlier this year.

Justin Rehberg will be tried at a Windsor court for public incitement of hatred, uttering threats and criminal harassment.

It’s alleged Justin and his brother Nathan set fire to a cross on the front lawn of an interracial Hants County couple last February.

On the night of February 21 Shayne Howe and Michelle Lyon say they awoke to find a flaming, two-metre cross on their front lawn and heard someone yelling racial slurs.

Nathan Rehberg’s trial begins November 10.
