Halloween is Sunday and as you get your last minute costumes and stock up on candy, Halifax Police are reminding everyone to be careful.
“We’re asking motorists to use extra caution particularly as they make their way through residential areas,” says Theresa Rath with Halifax police. “And we’re also asking parents and children to follow recommended safety rules as well.”
Rath says that includes wearing brightly-coloured costumes, carrying a flashlight and sticking to well-lit areas.
She also says trick-or-treaters should never go out alone and never go inside a house or apartment.
Rath also stressed the importance of parents checking the candy before it’s eaten.
