A heating glitch has meant some chilly days at the Victoria General Hospital lately – and one patient’s wife isn’t happy about it.
Florence Fineberg’s 87-year-old husband is terminally ill and staying in a transitional unit where she says the heat hasn’t worked properly since the weather turned cold.
Fineberg says it’s gotten so cold in the unit that patients are standing around shivering.
John Gillis with the Capital District Health Authority says the radiator system is tied to the outdoor temperature and during some mild days over the last week – it wouldn’t turn on.
Gillis tells the Herald plumbers are being brought in to look for airlocks.
Fineberg says the temperature was better yesterday – but she’s angry that senior citizens are receiving such “poor treatment.”
