Man robbed of large sum during ATM robbery

RCMP are looking for a suspect following a hold up at a bank machine in Cole Harbour.

Staff Sgt. Bruce Webb tells News 95.7 a man was approached at the Bank of Montreal ATM at 1086 Cole Harbour Road around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The suspect indicated he had a weapon and ordered the victim to empty his account.

“The victim handed over a large sum of money and the suspect fled on foot,” he said. “We had members in the area and we cordoned off the area right away and the K-9 unit was brought in and tracked, but was unable to locate the suspect.”

A mother and son were the victims of a similar robbery in the area a couple of weeks ago.

The suspect in the latest robbery is described as a medium-built man between five-foot-nine and five-foot-eleven.
