Sentencing for Justin Rehburg, 20, was scheduled for Tuesday morning in a Windsor courtroom, however, it is being put over until the New Year.
January 11th is the new sentencing date for Justin, one day after his brother Nathan is set to be sentenced.
The victims, Shayne Howe and Michelle Lyon, say the delay is disappointing.
“Frustrating, absolutely frustrating. We’re just tired,” says Lyon. “We were hoping that this court date would have ended this saga and then in January that would have been ended and then we can just move on. But that’s not the case.”
Howe says Rehburg’s friends continue to harass him.
“It happens pretty much every time we see them, as they’re over there now, they are still saying the exact same things and going on about this and going on about that,” he says. “It drives us nuts, it’s the same thing that we hear from them every time we see them. Dirty looks or laughing in my face and stuff like that and they’re just up there having a good old time.”
The Rehburg brothers were convicted of inciting racial hatred for leaving a burning cross on the front lawn of the interracial couple from East Hants. Nathan Rehburg was also convicted of criminal harassment in the case.
