Some Nova Scotia Power customers can now blame the weather for a change in their monthly bill.
The Herald reports that the company is planning to use historical weather patterns to adjust bills for anyone on a monthly plan.
A letter from the company to ratepayers states that weather can have an effect on power usage and the adjustment based on weather patterns will provide more consistency in billing.
Patty Faith with Nova Scotia Power says some customers could face higher bills when the change is made and the company is “open to discussing options” if there’s a significant impact.
