Countdown is on to Christmas shutdown!

It’s time for the storm before the calm.

Expect a mad rush at the stores today before everything shuts down at 5 p.m. for the Christmas break.

Malls, grocery stores, banks, Canada Post outlets and NSLC stores will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Most retailers will re-open on Monday, but government offices and Canada Post will be shut down until Wednesday.

While you won’t be spending money at the stores tomorrow, you won’t spend it on the harbour bridges, either. Tolls are free on Christmas Day.
