Halifax drivers got a holiday from the winter parking ban over the Christmas break.
Police handed out no ban-related tickets on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve.
Last year more than 100 tickets were issued on those same three days.
Halifax police Cst. Brian Palmeter tells Metro News officers may have used their discretion based on the lack of snow and warmer temperatures – but he adds people shouldn’t get used to the idea.
Since the ban kicked in on Dec. 15, about 1000 fewer tickets have been issued compared to the same period in 2009.
