Storm Centre updates for Wednesday January 12

A snowy afternoon and evening for HRM, and the News95.7 Storm Centre is tracking it. This page will be updated throughout the day as reports come in.
Airport: Halifax Stanfield International Airport Arrivals and Departures. Dozens of flights are cancelled, many are delayed.
Cancellations, closures:
- Halifax Shopping Centre, Mic Mac Mall both closing at 4pm due to snow conditions
- All of Halifax Public Libraries‘ branches will be closed today at 4 p.m. due to weather conditions.
- MSVU closing at 4:30pm. Distance classes may proceed, technology permitting
- Dalhousie closing at 5:30pm: no evening classes
- SMU closes at 5:30pm
- University of Kings College closes at 5:30pm.
- All Canadian Forces Bases in HRM are closed
- All Halifax Regional School Board properties will be closed tonight
- Capital Health: Pre-natal classes scheduled for tonight are cancelled
- via @DalNews: Tonight’s president’s annual neighbourhood meeting postponed due to snow. Rescheduled for Tuesday, Jan 25 at 7 pm, MacDonald Building
- all city classes at the Dartmouth Music Centre are cancelled for this afternoon and this evening
- Cole Harbour Place will operate under regular hours this evening, but tomorrow morning the building will be closed until noon

Information has been added today to talk about the plans in place for the winter wallop we’re now experiencing. We will have 46 HRM and 85 contracted trucks at our disposal tonight and expect to use 70 loaders and 12 graders for clean-up if this storm delivers on its promise, with sidewalk clearing beginning around 11 p.m.
