Nova Scotia highway lights to be replaced with L-E-D technology

The Nova Scotia government is making to changes to the way we “see” the highway by replacing lights with L-E-D technology.
The government says better lighting and lower maintenance are behind the drive.
The province has awarded a $3.2 million dollar contract to convert road lighting to the light-emitting diode products.
Black and McDonald will change 2,500 high pressure sodium bulbs throughout the province to L-E-D lights.
The L-E-D fixtures will be made by L-E-D Roadway Lighting of Amherst.
Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal Minister Bill Estabrooks says this substantial investment allows the province to move to a more sustainable way of lighting highways.
