Coun. Dawn Sloane has withdrawn a motion to send a letter to the provincial transportation minister about the winter parking ban.
Sloane had drawn up a memo asking Bill Estabrooks to change the ban so that tickets won’t be handed out if there’s no snow on the ground.
The letter also asked for alternate-side parking to be permitted in older parts of the city; and for distinct regulations for the downtown core, suburbs and rural areas of HRM.
On Tuesday, Sloane opted to roll the suggestions into a report going to the city’s transportation committee, which is currently reviewing the ban.
She asked for the committee to report back to council by April 5th.
