VPD looking for ‘serial’ purse snatcher

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver police are trying to find a man they call a “serial” purse snatcher.

Five women were robbed in East Vancouver between January 25th and February 3rd. In each case, the suspect walked up behind the victim, shoved her to the ground and then ran off with her purse.

Forty-two-year-old Kurt Alphonse Werner is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for robbery and breach of his court conditions.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Werner is asked to call 9-1-1 or Crime Stoppers
at 1-800-222-8477.
