Regional police are on the hunt for a suspect after an attack on a woman described as “very random and strange.”
Staff Sgt. Darrell Gaudet says someone buzzed the man into a Charlotte Lane apartment building around 8 o’clock Wednesday night.
“This male then just knocked randomly on the victim’s door,” he said. “When she opened it slightly he forced his way and immediately sprayed her with this sensory irritant. He did nothing else and he just fled the scene.”
Gaudet says officers are following some leads.
“We’re currently in the process of looking at some security camera footage to identify who this person is,” he said.
The victim was treated by EHS at the scene.
The suspect is described only as a white male about six feet tall wearing a red hoodie.
