Dog mauling victim returns to hometown

The woman who was attacked and nearly killed by a dog more than a week ago has been transferred to a Yarmouth hospital.

Noella Ann MacIntosh suffered critical injuries in the mauling on March 26 and was rushed to the QEII with bites to her face, neck and upper torso.

A friend tells the CBC MacIntosh was released on Saturday and transferred to the Yarmouth facility.

Lorraine Hamilton says MacIntosh can speak but can’t walk yet and has a “long haul” ahead of her.

RCMP are still investigating the incident.
