HRM Police are on the look-out for an antique chair. It was taken from a Fenwick Street residence in South End Halifax a week ago Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Constable Brian Palmeter explains how the thief got hold of the piece.
“The owner of the chair was in the process of moving belongings and the chair was outside for just a minute or two, I guess, unwatched, and someone came along and took it,” he says.
The chair was built in Austria in the early 1800s and is described as a ‘miniature Queen’s throne”.
“It’s very unique and we’re asking anyone with information or if someone picked it up thinking it was being put to the curb, we’re asking any of those people to contact police,” he says.
A picture of the chair has been given to a stolen antiques registry.
