RCMP are looking into an attack in Cole Harbor that left a 22-year-old man in hospital with a serious stab wound.
It happened in the 300 block of Caldwell Road in a small park not far from Caldwell Road Elementary School.
Police learned about the attack after the victim arrived at the Dartmouth General around 6 p.m. Thursday evening.
“The Halifax Regional Police were dispatched to that location and subsequent to talking to the victim, RCMP members were dispatched to a house on Caldwell Road,” explained Staff Sgt. Scott Warnica.
Warnica says investigators believe an aggravated assault took place, but it’s not clear yet exactly what happened.
“We don’t know how many people were around at this time,” said Warnica. “There were several witness that were interviewed by the (General Investigation Section).”
Warnica says there have been no arrests made yet and at this point the case could be considered an attempted murder.
