Police have named the latest person charged in connection with the murder of Brandon Hatcher in Spryfield.

The 20-year-old was gunned down on Lavender Walk on the night of December 3rd, 2010.

Three people are before the courts including one arrested last week and charged as an accessory after the fact.

This afternoon, police identified 41-year-old Richard Allen Butler of Halifax as the man arrested Tuesday at police headquarters. He’ll be charged with weapons offences and a breach of a weapons prohibition.

Police announced Tuesday that the man would be accused of being an accessory after the fact, but say today that the Crown decided not to go ahead with that count.
