Community group asking for release of uncensored documents

Nova Scotia’s freedom of information review officer is calling on the province’s Transportation Department to release uncensored documents to a community group.

The group, called Protect the Bay, filed an access request last year to find out more about a proposed connector road in the St. Margarets Bay area.

They received more than two thousand pages, but they were so heavily censored they didn’t make any sense.

Dulcie McCallum has issued a report saying the department acted inappropriately by withholding public information.
