Comedy troupe Picnicface issues Halifax casting call

If you’ve ever laughed along with the local comedy troupe Picnicface, you now have a chance to be in a TV show with them.

The group, known for its YouTube and College Humour Video sketches, has issued a casting call for its upcoming series on the Comedy Network.

This particular episode of the series, set to debut this fall, includes a basketball game and Bill Wood, who describes himself as the “slight, red-headed one” in Picnicface, says they need a bunch of people to be in the crowd.

“There’s a basketball game, so you’ll watch a basketball game,” he said. “I can’t tell you much more than that about it, but it is going to be really weird.”

Wood promises the shoot will be fun and even said it’s a chance to be part of a piece of art.

The shoot will take about six hours on Thursday morning, and anyone who’s interested has to apply online.

“If you want to do this, you could do other background work and get paid to do it,” he said. “This will be volunteer work for us, because we need hundreds of people.”

Anyone who’s interested can fill out a talent profile online at hennesseycasting.com. You must be 18 or accompanied by a parent or guardian. The location, exact times and wardrobe notes will be sent to those who make the cut.
