Strike shouldn’t impact passengers: Air Canada

Talks continue between Air Canada and the Canadian Auto Workers Union. Workers have until 12:01 a.m. Tuesday to either reach an agreement or strike.
3,800 workers are affected. They include call centre employees, check-in clerks and gate agents.
Isabelle Arthur with Air Canada says she’s confident the two sides can reach and agreement. But, she says in the event of a strike, the impact on travelers should be minimal.
“We have a contingency plan so that we can continue a full schedule and minimize the impact on our customers,” she says. “We have posted information on our website (www.aircanada.com). It’s very comprehensive so that customers can use a lot of self-service tools when they travel.”
If workers decide to strike, Arthur advises passengers to use www.aircanada.com for self check-in services.
