Dartmouth politician Trevor Zinck has had his preliminary inquiry on charges related to the MLA expenses scandal scheduled for seven days next winter.
The independent Member of the Legislative Assembly is charged with fraud, theft and breach of trust by a public official, along with three former MLAs whose cases are also before the court.
The pretrial is set from February 13 to 17, 20 and 21.
A focus hearing on December 7 was also scheduled.
“It’s just an opportunity for the Crown and the judge to sit down and discuss if there are any matters of disclosure, if there are any other information that needs to be exchanged between defense and Crown,” explained Zinck’s lawyer Lyle Howe.
Howe explained the focus hearing is also an opportunity to decide whether seven days is the right length for time needed for the preliminary inquiry.
