SAINT JOHN, N.B.- Well known Saint John businessman Richard “Dick” Oland will be laid to rest today.
A funeral service for the member of the Moosehead beer making family is scheduled for noon at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church in Rothesay.
The 69-year old’s body was found Thursday morning in his Canterbury Street office.
Police Chief Bill Reid told a news conference yesterday Oland was murdered and it was not a random act of violence. “We do not have somebody in the City of Saint John creating havoc or mayhem”, says Reid. “This is a selective investigation relative to a homicide”.
Reid says he believes the investigation will reveal the victim and his killer knew one another.
There are no suspects in custody and Reid says the police force is being very methodical in it’s investigation.
