Olympic sprinter gets full sponsorship from N.S. Power

Nova Scotia Power has announced it will sponsor Olympic sprinter Adrienne Power.
NSP will take care of the East Jeddore runner’s training and associated costs through the 2012 and 2016 Olympics Games.
No one is saying how much money that means, but Power’s annual training and travel costs run well into six figures.
Chris Huskilson, CEO of NSP parent company Emera Inc., tells the Herald their corporate values are Nova Scotia values and he says they see her grit and determination.
Huskilson says the sponsorship grew out of Power’s successes in the Commonwealth Games, where she finished with two bronze medals.
The Dalhousie graduate says the sponsorship will give her access to the best coaching available and will allow her to focus 100 percent on her goal of reaching the Olympic podium.
