Men escape injury in shooting attack

Regional Police say it’s lucky no one was hurt in yet another broad daylight shooting.
Staff Sgt. Reid McCoombs tells News 95.7 the shooting happened around 6:40 Tuesday evening when two young men were approached by two more men at a Pleasant Street convenience store – and one of them reached for what looked like a gun.
He says the victims didn’t stick around.
“They very quickly got in their car,” says McCoombs. “As they were trying to get out of the parking lot they heard three or four loud bangs. I believe the car was struck with several gunshots.”
McCoombs says the car’s rear windshield was shot out and the passenger door was hit.
He says the brazen attack was a tragedy waiting to happen.
“It’s absolutely dangerous.” McCoombs says. “Its daylight. It’s a fairly busy store. There could have been more people around than what were there at the time.”
At this point, McCoombs says there is no indication the victims knew the shooters.
