Downtown councillor Dawn Sloane tells us why she thinks HRM council should stay the same size. She also discusses downtown drunkenness. “The bars close in this city and the stupidity starts,” said Nova Scotia Chief Justice Joseph Kennedy in court this week. And he’s not kidding, the Halifax Regional Police arrest on average 4000 people for public drunkenness a year. Police definitely have their hands full — we’ll chat with Cst. Brian Palmeter from HRP and downtown bar owner Victor Syperek. Halifax’s transit system is broken and a group of people are hoping to fix it. The Halifamous Bernie Smith stops by.
